HAMILTON COUNTY PARKS AND REC
Why Hamilton County Parks?
My goal as a designer is to positively impact society. Giving citizens community and civic pride is something I have had a heart for for quite a while. In school, a good portion of my work was focused on how to generate this pride in the city of Marion, Indiana. Currently, I have shifted to the north of Indianapolis, working with Hamilton County Parks & Recreation to bring this pride to our visitors. As a lover of parks, this was a natural fit for me. Despite only being here 2 years, there is a special feeling of home in this system.

The Day to day
How my position works is keeping track of and providing design needs for each of our 13 parks across the county. Some of these have their own brand identities, and working in between them on a consistent basis provides a nice change of pace. Whether it’s monument signs, banners, flyers, or engravings, there’s always a new challenge to create more civic engagement! When putting on events, I am usually in charge of photography and capturing moments. This position has pushed me in directions I had never thought I’d be in before.
